It's safe to say that the game announcement rush before the Tokyo Game Show kicks off September 16 is well underway. Square Enix's contribution today: The first word on a Nintendo DS remake of Final Fantasy Legend III, a classic RPG released for the black-and-white Game Boy in 1993.
Titled SaGa 3: Shadow or Light in Japanese, the DS remake follows in the footsteps of the Final Fantasy Legend II remake Square Enix released in Japan last year -- a remake that's sadly yet to see an English release.

In this week's issue of Famitsu magazine, Irem Software Engineering took the wraps off Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 4, a third-person action game set in a city reeling from a massive earthquake.

Capcom revealed in this week's issue of Famitsu magazine that Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, the third game in what's become a million-selling PSP series in Japan, is hitting stores sooner than most folks expected.

Having had a stint on the Nintendo DS, Treasure's classic shoot 'em up franchise Bangai-O is now on its way to Xbox Live Arcade.
D3Publisher will be publishing the newly-announced Bangai-O HD: Missile Fury for the Xbox 360, which is scheduled to launch this fall. It will feature more than 100 levels in addition to a level editor tool.
Bangai-O was originally developed for the Nintendo 64, but was ported to the Dreamcast a few months later. The series is best-known for its incredibly high missile count, with D3Publisher promising a "sensory overloard of thousands of missiles"...

The once-rumored Facebook adaptation of Madden NFL is definitely real, as it officially went live earlier today.
The spinoff features simulated games, with teams being assembled via packs of virtual cards. Points for new cards can be acquired by winning games, or by dropping real-life cash. There's also a practice mode, where training points can be accrued over a certain period of time and used to improve the team.

According to Siliconera, every copy of the game (which drops in Europe October 8) will come with a new controller -- a slight departure from the game's Japanese release strategy, which offered a controller bundle for 6,800 yen ($81), and a controller-less copy of the game for 4,800 yen ($57).

The publisher informed us that the original Guild Wars has now sold over 6.5 million units. Gegenüber Joystiq teilte der Publisher mit, dass das Original bis dato über 6,5 Mio. Mal über den Ladentisch gewandert sei.Die Hälfte der Einheiten sei in Europa verkauft worden, heißt es außerdem. Den größten Anteil daran wiederum hätte der deutsche Markt gehabt. Das sei auch der Grund dafür gewesen, dass sich NCsoft dazu entschloss, die Fortsetzung auf der gamescom 2010 erstmals öffentlich zu zeigen....
Zur Detail-Ansicht...In Japan ist Wii Party schon seit einiger Zeit erhältlich und stürmte dort fast schon erwartungsgemäß die Charts. In Europa wird die Nintendo-Produktion dann am 8. Oktober in den Handel kommen. Im Gegensatz zur Japan- und US-Fassung wird der Titel hierzulande übrigens wohl standardmäßig wie Wii Play im Bundle mit einer Wiimote ausgeliefert und dürfte so auch den einen oder anderen Nutzer ansprechen, der noch auf der Suche nach einem zweiten, dritten oder vierten Controller ist. Das Paket wird 49,99 Euro kosten.
